House #2

L6 studio receives an invitation to a closed competition between two architectural studios for a single-family building at the foot of Vitosha Mountain. The family of two professionals with two children travels a lot and is expecting a house that opens up to the terrain and towards nature, but that can be also easily shut and secured when the residents are absent. The terrain is steep and provides the opportunity of entering the house at the lower street level and of developing the entire living area on the second level which opens up to the terrain. The proposal, which remains unrealized, is for a compact building with a horizontal division of concrete slabs and floors with a system of wooden doors able to enclose the volume of the house completely.
